Runway reconstruction at the Ulan-Ude Airport

Work started: July 2006; Work completed: October 2006 (first stage).

The Ulan-Ude Airport is the primary air transport terminal of Buryatia. It provides a regular communication with the European part of Russia and airports in Siberia and the Far East as well as being a transit air hub for international cargo flights.

During reconstruction the following work was performed by the MOST specialists:

  • reinforcing a 2,997 m long and 45 m wide runway with an average reinforcement layer up to 24 cm.
  • reinforcing and expanding the RD-3 taxi way of 155 m in length and 22.5 m in width.

A Gomaco concrete paver and CEDIMA joint cutters were used on the job site.

After the reconstruction is completed, the Ulan-Ude airport will be able to accommodate all the aircraft types, and its throughput will increase to 1 million passengers per year.
