Road construction / Overbridge in Ekaterinoslavka village (Amur Region)

Overbridge over Zabaikalskaya Railway in Ekaterinoslavka village in Amur region

Overbridge construction at km 7,945, Picket 8 of the Zabaikalskaya Railway.

Construction commencement – August, 2008, construction completion – November, 2010.

The overbridge crosses the railway at an angle of 60°.

Overbridge scheme: 18+3x24+2x18 m, overall dimensions G9 + 2x1.5 m. Overbridge length – 127.296 m.

End piers are of trestle type having an individual design. Support basement – 6 bored reinforced concrete piers with diameter of 1.5 m and burial depth of up to 18 m, united pairwise with monolithic head. Support top portion – prefabricated reinforced concrete pillars with diameter of 0.8 m.

Intermediate supports are of grillageless type, three pole, single row. Base portion – bored piers with diameter of 1.5 m, footing depth – up to 20 m. Top portion – cast-in-place reinforced concrete pillars with diameter of 1.35 m.

Reinforced concrete superstructures with lengths of 18 m and 28 m are of l-shaped cross-section with prestressed reinforcement and incompletely concreted slab. Superstructure cross-section is composed of 6 girders with spacing of 2.3 m between them.

Maurer MMM D-80 expansion joints are arranged between superstructures at support No. 4, superstructures Nos. 1, 7 and abutment walls. Expansion joints shall be arranged along the whole superstructure width.

Road surface is made of bitumen concrete 70 mm thick. A protective coating of steel fiber concrete 100 mm thick functions as a waterproof layer.

Work has been carried out on the main operational railway track of the Trans-Siberian line. Installation of superstructure girders with a length of L=24.0 m has been carried out by “launching”, with 2-hour stops of train traffic without dismantling the overhead contact system.
