Upgrading the Dorogomilovsky Bridge over the Moskva River at the 40th Kilometer of the Moscow Railway Inner Belt
Work started - April 2013, work completion - October 2014
The existing bridge design (built in 1907): 18.2+3х55.0+18.2 m Full length - 214.09 meters.
The new design: 77.5 + 116.0 m, extended by a viaduct. The length of the new bridge less the viaduct is 193.5 meters.
The bridge has continuous trussed steel lower-deck ballasted spans. The bridge piers and abutments are of cast-in-place reinforced concrete with end-bearing 1.50-meter diameter drilled-pile footings.
The construction project is part of the program "Reconstruction and Development of the Moscow Railway Inner Belt."
Scope of Operations:
Old span structure and pier top removal from the bridge over the Moskva River;
Construction of a double-track two-span railway bridge by intermittent axial launching.
The drilled piles are put in place using the Bauer BG-38 Drilling Rig. The RDK-500 Lifting Crane is used for handling casing pipes, rebar cages, and cast concrete pipes. The span structure launching will be done using hydraulic jacks.
The bridge is designed to support non-stop railway traffic along the Moscow Railway Inner Belt.
