Railway bridge across the Ob River

The Bridge is at the 605th kilometer of the Omsk—Altayskaya section of the West-Siberian railway in Kamen-na-Obi.

Work started: November 2006; To be completed: December 2009.

The Bridge structure is 23+27+5х23+88+2х127+2х127+2х88+18 m. The total bridge length is 974.644 meters. The metal span structures, beams and trusses, with tracks on ferroconcrete slabs. Ferroconcrete supports. The volume of cast-in-place concrete used for supports is 17,500 m3. The volume of pre-cast reinforced concrete used for supports is 2,500 m3. The weight of the metal used for the span structures is 5,000 tons. The weight of the metal structures of auxiliary facilities and devices is 9,800 tons.

The pier foundations consist of auger piles, and supports are made of the pre-cast blocks. The beam span structures are installed using cranes, while trusses are assembled using the cantilever erection technique.

Vibrating pile drivers, Junttan PM 26 drilling assemblies, Sennebogen crane with a payload of 100 tons, and a Daewoo concrete pump were used to install piles, set up the pier foundation, and build supports. High-payload cranes and UMK-2 erection cranes are used to erect span structures.

The construction of the bridge is being done within a narrow timeframe. The new bridge will significantly increase the train-handling capacity of the Central-Siberian route, where most of the transit freight Kuzbass to the European part of Russia comes from.
