Railway construction / Bridge across the Moscow River

Railway bridge across the Moscow River

The Bridge is at the 16th kilometer of the 3rd and 4th tracks of the Moscow – Kursk line of the Moscow railway.

Work started: August 2002; Work completed: December 2006.

The Bridge structure is 55.0+110.0+55.0 meters. Continuous metal span structures (trusses) with tracks on ferroconcrete slabs each way.

The project involved building a new two-track bridge crossing in the axis of an 1864 bridge, disassembling the old bridge supports, and installing new supports on drilled piers.
Installation of span structures was performed using the conveyor incremental assembly technique simultaneously for the span structures of the IIIrd and IVth tracks.

Vibrating pile drivers and Junttan PM 26 LC drilling assemblies were used to install piles and set up temporary supports. The assembly and installation of the span structures were performed using high-payload cranes KАТО – 500, HITACHI KH500L-PD, GROVE.

The bridge reconstruction was performed near residential areas in the conditions of intense train traffic.
