Characteristic features of building ballasted bridges were recently discussed at a seminar arranged in Sochi by STROI-TREST. The seminar was devoted to the matters of supply, assembly, and erection of the bridge frameworks which will be used in construction of railway bridges on the Adler – Alpika Service Mountain Resort Highway.

The seminar gathered more than a hundred specialists from all over the country, including representatives of manufacturing plants in Ulan-Ude, Voronezh, Yaroslavl and other cities. For several days, designers, manufacturers, and construction specialists discussed the most pressing issues of construction. In particular, the discussion encompassed the methods of welding, material waterproofing, and corrosion protection of structures.

“For specialists employed in the industry, such seminars are quite important”, noted Viktor Goncharov, deputy head of the autonomous subdivision OAO STROI-TREST for social and labor matters. “They allow them to solve a wide range of production issues which always arise in the course of construction”.
